Today we're releasing a host of improvements that you Snapviners asked for in recent weeks.

Voice Blog Widget
More than a blog, Snapvine voice blogs help you keep up with friends and gives you a place to express yourself and feel a sense of freedom.  And starting today, you can add your voice blog to your MySpace page, your TypePad or Blogger blog or practically any other online site where your friends are.  Get a voice blog widget 

Friend Search & Invite
Snapvine is more meaningful when you can use it with people you care about.  Now, you can find your friends, add them to your Snapvine and "say it out loud" together.  Find your friends

Privacy
Sometimes you don't want the whole world to hear what you have to say.  As of today, you can set your Snapvine to "friends only" so that only your friends have access to your profile, your voice blog and your comments.  Privacy settings

Better Mobile Blogging
Since so many of you are voice blogging while away from your computer we decided to improve that experience by adding the ability to listen to and interact with your subscriptions and blog replies from your phone.   My mobile

New widgets
Now anyone can express themselves and get a taste of Snapvine more easily than ever.  Anyone can create a Talking Photo or a Voice Drop in about 2 seconds and post nearly anywhere on the net.  Check out the new widgets  

 
Community Policing
You made it clear that you'd like ways to report inappropriate content and help protect younger Snapviners.  Today, we're launching "flag" links so that everyone can help us uphold basic standards and rid the community of inappropriate content such as harassment and porn.  "Mature content" warnings weren't quite ready yet, but they're coming soon.

We've made lots of other improvements such as new share buttons, added support for RSS/i-tunes and the ability to remove subscribers.  Surf around and see how many you can find.

New ways to share and publish

Today we released some improvements to the website include an improved voice blog creation page that's easier to use and a new way to share your posts.

Now, voice blog item pages have a mini-player that includes the ability to pause and skip fwd and reverse
within a post.  This will make things much easier to use.

Also, the new mini-player itself can now be shared around the web.  You'll be able to post these on myspace pages, send in myspace bulletins and post them to your text blog.  This is our first small step towards allowing you to take your snapvine to where your friends are.

Lots of new features today

We've been working hard all summer on a ton of great new features, and many of these went live today!

Voice Blogs - actually much more than a blog, its a way you can keep in touch with 10 friends or 10,000 by simply dialing the phone number when something you want to say pops into your head.  We've made replying easy.   Today this is in limited release on our website, but that's just the beginning...

Voice Comments - now you can send a voice comment to anyone you want.  Just click "voice comments" record your voice and enter the email addresses (or lists) you want to send to.  It's easy and fun!

Subscribers / Subscribing - find interesting people and subscribe to them or tell your friends to do the same.  When you subscribe to someone, you get notified when they do stuff with Snapvine (such as post to their voice blog).  Oh yeah, you can also get notified via SMS.

Sound Quality - you might have noticed that things sound a lot clearer now than they did a week ago.  We upped the sound quality across the board by 2 times.  Also, entries can now be up to 10 minutes long - very useful for those times when you have a lot on your mind and need to say it all out loud.

Ad Serving - we hope you understand to keep Snapvine as a FREE service, but that generally means we have to do some advertising, so we've instrumented the new pages for serving ads.  We're not eager to do any smack-the-monkey type advertising though.  Look forward to advertisers and sponsorships that actually make Snapvine a better place to be.  Trust me, you'll see.

Record-by-microphone - wow, I almost forgot about this one!  You can now record by microphone instead of posting by phone for those times you using Snapvine at your computer.
